Everything is duality on a spectrum in this realm. To be in debt can be good, bad or in between. To be used can be good, bad or in balance. To be of use to others can benefit just them, just you or you both. It takes Will to be of good use and in balance, giving and receiving. It takes none at all to give until we are out of balance and used up by others with nothing to show. The choice is ever ours.
