The holiday season is a perfect time for getting together with loved ones, and the skies think so, too! On Sunday, Dec. 7, the Moon and Jupiter will form a conjunction. This means that the two celestial bodies will appear right beside each other in the sky, despite sitting hundreds of millions of miles apart in space. This pairing gives us an opportunity to easily spot Jupiter in the night sky. To see it, find the Moon in the eastern sky on the evening of the 7th Jupiter will be slightly above and to the right of it. Happy skywatching!
