Not sure what’s your view on this topic but by going through several calls, listen to industry podcast and listen to what other more experienced team members say. Prospecting of course is not easy but I think sometimes especially being a cold call you do not always need to ask for the business but rather giving them a call to provide value , to inform them about what’s happening ( in my case real estate letting them know what happens in the market ) you almost want the other person to feel like next time you will call
You will provide value to them so they are happy to pick up the call then when once you build the relationship maybe is easier to get business from them.
Ps I am saying this but it’s hard to do this all the time especially if the other person does not want to talk to you or is not interested because all they think is that your only reason to call is to get business ( which is probably true, otherwise why I would cold call you ?)
