NON PROFIT SET UP
🌱 Nonprofit Setup & Registration: Why It Matters Setting up a nonprofit goes beyond having a good cause, it requires clear structure, proper registration, and ongoing compliance. Defining the mission, leadership, and legal framework early helps establish credibility and transparency. A well-registered nonprofit can access grants, receive tax-deductible donations, form partnerships, and operate with greater trust from supporters and the public. Which benefit of nonprofit registration do you find most valuable for long-term impact?

NON PROFIT SET UP
What was your biggest win last month?
(*Warning...this is a longer post than my usual. I wasn't planning to post anything like this but after doing my new-ish daily habit this morning (which I started on 12/17/25), I thought I would share my experience). January is over and Hello February! Many people made goals at the beginning of the year. How did yours go? My take on goals...I personally don't like them! After reading the book Atomic Habits by James Clear, my perspective on goals Completely Changed! (If you haven't read this book, it is one of my Top 5 Books which has impacted my life. You can find it here: https://amzn.to/49PJDAk) The overall message I got from this book: replace goals with Habits (and Yes, there is a difference.) What has been my new habit you ask? I'm glad you asked. It is the dreaded "B" word... At least that's what my wife and I have called it ever since we got married. It has probably been the #1 source of contention in our marriage: Budgeting! (There. I said it 😬) Last year I postponed doing our taxes waaaaay too long. I filed an extension and Finally got them done...in JULY! Please keep in mind we have to file Business and Personal Taxes so they take a long time to do. But still....July?! After this chaos, I promised myself I wouldn't let that happen again. But did I? August rolled around. I didn't work on Taxes. 😬 September....Nothing. 😭 October...Nada. ‼️ November...Zilch. 🧨 My problem was, whenever I sat down to reconcile our accounts and budget, I realized I needed to budget first. For our family, we have a lot of transactions each week. It would take me a solid hour to put each transaction into its proper budget category (even with budgeting software on a weekly basis) and then...I was out of time. My kids would need my attention. My wife would need something. Our dogs made a mess. I never had 1+ hours to work on budgeting and taxes in a given day. 😭 On 12/17/25, I told myself I was going to catch up on everything in our budget and get all of our taxes done before 1/15/26. But this time it was going to be different. It wasn't a goal, but a HABIT. Instead of budgeting weekly, I was going to budget DAILY. This change has made ALL the difference!

What project are you working on this weekend?
We will see how our weekend goes but I am building a window framed insert for our friends basement window. Instead of sheetrock, he wants plywood so it will be more durable. He also wanted something stronger to attach to because he's hanging up blinds inside his window frame. I've never done a project like this so it's going to be fun trying something new. What about you?
I was shocked when I felt inside my back pocket!
Wanted to share a funny story from last week. I was ice fishing with my kids. We had the best time! Each of my kids caught two fish and were having a blast. We've never had that kind of success before! Each fish we were going to keep, we would put on top of the ice until we were ready to leave. We ended up keeping 8 fish to bring home and cook. As we were packing up, I looked in my tackle box and started to get worried. I couldn't find a rope so I could string the fish together to carry back to our car. I started to search franticly because I didn't want to carry them by hand. I checked my front pockets...nothing. My leg pockets...again nothing. Then I checked my back pocket and felt something but couldn't remember what it was. As I reached in to grab it, a lightbulb went off in my mind. I then pulled out one of my Infinity straps from Modl Infinity tools. I was smiling from ear to ear because I could almost guarantee no one has ever used one of these straps to string fish together. Within a matter of minutes I had all of our fish strung together and we were on our way. I can't count the number of times these simple Infinity Straps have made something hard, become very easy. I personally feel every DIY'ers toolbox should have some of these! You can check them out here: https://modl.com/ucanbuildthis What is one of your favorite "go-to" tools?
