Pack discussion: What do you fall back on under pressure?
Pack Nation, I’m opening a conversation about what I call the internal thermostat. It’s a simple metaphor for the familiar response we return to when the moment gets uncomfortable.
Say your goal is to coach with more patience. Then practice gets behind, a drill breaks down, and you hear yourself rushing through instructions again. That moment gives you something specific to notice: what happened right before you went back to the old response.
We’ll look at this from the field, the dugout, the stands, and the business side of coaching. The examples will look different, but the starting point is the same: notice the pattern before deciding what to do with it.
Join the conversation: What’s one moment in baseball or softball when you can feel yourself slipping back into a familiar response?
