🐺 COACH SPOTLIGHT: Meet Coach Hailey Askland

29 years old. Still playing competitive softball. Head Coach of Iowa Slammers 18U. Pitching coach. Catching coach. Hitting coach. And most importantly—a coach who gets it.

Coach Hailey's journey is rooted in passion. She's been playing since T-ball and literally hasn't stopped. Her parents coached her. Now she coaches the next generation with the same fire and dedication.

What makes her different:

✓ She still plays competitive softball (55+ mph fastball)

✓ She coaches girls ages 6-18, understanding every level

✓ She teaches pitching, catching, and hitting—and uses all three to make her players better

✓ She builds FAMILY culture first, skills second

✓ She's a role model, not just a coach—girls see her competing at the same level

"You gotta really connect with your girls if you're gonna get anywhere in softball. Girls need to have confidence in themselves AND trust in their coach."

Her core philosophy: Make it fun. Make it expressive. But know when to be serious. Build the player AND the person.
