Helping more Advanced riders and TP members and through a section on the double black line where they were loosing or not maintaining speed. .
After unlocking this little ninja secret, they were building more skills and flowing through this section with more precision.
.
Why?
.
When teaching these riders how to float off of the shark fin, I noticed they were both
Stiff
Pressure Control timing was off
And the bars were either straight or turning the the right in the air.
.
On this feature, the way you control your bars in the air is how you control where your belly button is pointed. Of course, your belly button is the main way you control direction changes on the trail.
.
The main focus was to get them relaxed and add reps so they can slowly feel the left bar turn and how it allows them to tackle the subsequent right turn.
.
Turning the bar to the left allowed the riders to point toward an earlier apex and pump through the whole turn with no braking.
.
Turning the bar to the right was putting them on an inside line and forcing late braking through the turn, making the flow into the next feature officially canceled.
.
This is why you want a coaches eye on you while you progress. 🤘
.
Editors note: they both were able to get it, I just wanted to use this clip for teaching.
