Post-Race Breakdown System The race is not the finish line. It’s feedback. The riders who improve the fastest are not the ones who just race—they are the ones who learn from every race. This is where long-term progression happens. The Goal of Post-Race After a race, the goal is simple: Turn performance into progress. Every race should give you: • Clear takeaways • Specific areas to improve • Direction for your next training phase Step 1: Immediate Reflection Right after your run, while everything is fresh, ask yourself: • What went well? • What didn’t go well? • Where did I feel strong? • Where did I struggle? Keep it simple and honest. Avoid overthinking—just capture your first impressions. Step 2: Separate Emotion from Performance Racing brings emotion. But emotion can cloud judgment. Instead of saying: “I rode terrible” Break it down: • Did I miss lines? • Did I brake too much? • Was my timing off? This shifts your mindset from frustration to problem-solving. Step 3: Video Breakdown If you have footage, use it. Watch your run and look for: • Line choice • Body position • Braking points • Timing through key sections Compare: • Your best sections vs your weakest • Your run vs faster riders Look for patterns, not just mistakes. Step 4: Identify Key Focus Areas Don’t try to fix everything at once. Choose 1–3 key areas to improve. Examples: • Cornering speed • Braking control • Line consistency • Confidence in technical sections Focused training leads to faster progress. Step 5: Build Your Next Plan Use what you learned to guide your training. Ask: • What skills do I need to improve? • What drills will help? • What should I prioritize before the next race? This creates a clear path forward. Tracking Progress Over Time Improvement happens over multiple races. Keep track of: • Results • Strengths • Weaknesses • Key lessons Over time, patterns will appear. These patterns show you exactly what to work on. Avoiding Common Mistakes After a race, avoid: • Ignoring what went wrong

Dudes Day Retreat 2026 Mt Bachelor!
🏁 Dudes Day was a hit! 🏁 . We had an unforgetable weekend at Mt. Bachelor in Bend Oregon! 🚲🤘 . We got to escape the heat and the smoke and have the best riding experience of our lives! . These dudes put in work! 💪🇺🇲 . They showed up, held themselves accountable, reached deep into the mind and body to take risks and see a TON of progress and reward for their efforts! . From the coaches perspective, this is what I was hearing from the dudes: "I can't believe I just did that!" "I already can't wait for next year's retreat!" . This is what Dudes Day Retreat is all about. You definitely missed out if you chose to skip this! . DM to join our Facebook group and get invited to the next one! . #mountains #mountain #mountainbike #Dudes Day: Hops and Pops
