Free Trial vs. Freemium

I came across an interesting post about free trials and wanted to get everyone's thoughts.

If you don't have a strong personal brand yet, do you think people are less likely to sign up for a free trial simply because they don't know you or your work well enough? In that case, would a free or freemium option be the smarter approach?

Also, when launching a new community: would you wait until the full course is completely recorded before launching, or launch early and add content over time?
