The Write Angle Community Guidelines
We’re here to help one another grow as writers, navigate publishing, and connect with readers. Please help keep this community welcoming and useful. 1. Keep language clean. No profanity or vulgar language, including in excerpts, images, and shared material. 2. Keep discussions and excerpts free of explicit content. Questions about romance and attraction are welcome at the craft level. Please leave out graphic sexual descriptions, explicit excerpts, and sexually explicit images. 3. Treat fellow writers with respect. Different experiences and opinions are welcome. Personal attacks, ridicule, and harassment are not. 4. Give thoughtful feedback when requested. Be honest and constructive, respect the writer’s goals, and ask before offering an unsolicited critique. 5. Share without spamming. Keep posts relevant to writing, publishing, marketing, and reader relationships. Share promotional material only where invited, and don’t send unsolicited sales messages to members. 6. Respect other people’s work and privacy. Don’t repost someone’s excerpts, personal information, or community discussions elsewhere without permission. Posts or comments that violate these guidelines may be removed. Repeated or serious violations may result in removal from the community. If you’re unsure whether something is appropriate, please ask Elle before posting. You can also find the short rule list here: Community Rules

To welcome The Write Angle’s first 10 members, I’m offering each person one complimentary 30-minute Zoom coaching session with bestselling author Elle E. Kay. Character Writing Prompt: The Detour That Costs Them
Your character stops to help someone and misses the ferry to an important meeting. Write the moment they choose to stay. What do they risk, and what do they refuse to regret? Set a timer and write for 15 minutes. You can use someone from your current project or create a new character. If you’d like, share a few lines or tell us what your character’s choice revealed. Please keep excerpts within our community guidelines, and offer critique only when the writer asks for it. Elle
