The Law of Reflection Ch.4
Today’s book club was great! We discussed the importance of reflection. The author gave 10 steps to self reflect. After all, experience is not a teacher if we don’t reflect on the experience to learn the lesson. This is why we may repeat the same experiences over and over without learning a darn thing. This week’s action steps are: 1. Find a place to spend time with yourself for deep reflection. 2. Schedule a daily time to reflect preferably before bed. 3. Be sure to ask yourself detailed questions that will help understand your area of focus and be honest about your responses. We hope to see you on the next call.

Yesterday’s Book Club Was Lit 🔥
These pictures were from yesterday’s book club. We discussed chapter 3 of the book “15 Invaluable Laws of Growth” by John C Maxwell. In this chapter, we discussed 10 ways to build your self-image and tangible actions to tackle low self-esteem 🔥🔥🔥 They had such honest and open dialogue. It was simply beautiful. The children were ages 12-21, and it was great to hear from various perspectives from boys who are at different points in their life. If you have a son, join us every Sunday at 2. This is a parent and child book club, so I encourage parents to read the book and join the zoom with your child because it makes the conversation much more effective. Thank you to the 2 moms who joined the call @Deirdre Thomas and @Jasmine Bradley. Your questions and insight was greatly appreciated🔥💕 This week’s action steps is to write down 100 positive qualities about self and circle the 1 word that BEST describes who they are. They also must track their thoughts on paper to determine if their thoughts are mostly positive or mostly negative. Finally, they will be reading chapter 4. We will discuss next Sunday. Join us🎉 Since we’ve started the book club, we haven’t had any girls join in on the discussion 🤷🏽‍♀️ and after much consideration I’ve decided to keep this space strictly for boys. We have been engaging in rich discussions, and it is clear that boys need and appreciate their own space to share and be vulnerable. I am more than happy to host a girl only book club if you have a daughter who is interested. We will start one if we have at least 5 girls and 5 parents.

The 15 Invaluable Laws of Growth Chapters 1-2
We had a great introductory book club meeting today. This book is what’s needed to reach your next level 🚀 Next week we will discuss the following questions: Chapter 1: The Law of Intentionality 5 Fears That Keep People From Success Which fear affects you the most? Fear of failure Fear of alienating others Fear of trading security for the unknown Fear of being over extended financially Fear of what others may say or think Which gap do you need to fill? Gaps 1. The assumption gap- assuming that you will grow just because…we must make the decision and not rely on learning from the School of Hardknocks 2. The timing gap- there is a difference between trying and doing…the longer you wait to do something you should do the more likely you won’t do it 3. Mistake Gap- what would you do if you knew you couldn’t fail welcome mistakes 4. Perfection Gap- the desire the best way to get started 5. Inspiration gap- don’t feel like doing it just do it and as you progress you’ll get motivated 6. Comparison gap- others are better than me 7. Expectation gap preparation+attitude+opportunity+action=luck 🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞 Chapter 2: The Law of Awareness 1. Do you like what you’re doing? 2. What would you like to do? Have you found your passion? 1. What are your unique talents? 4. Do you understand your motives? 1. Where do you most need to grow? 6. Do you know people who do what you want to do? 7. Should you do what you like to do with others who are successful in your area? 8. Will you pay the price to do what you want to do? 9. When can you start doing what you would like to do? 10. What will it be like when you get to do what you like to do? Let’s Hit It 📌
