When hosting and/or participating in summits and bundles, is it best for my community to be freemium or paid with free trial? What has been your experience?

Hi ladies, I have been wondering what role summits should play in my community. I currently have modules for my members and was wondering how seamless having at least 2 annual summits a year would be. I don't want to overwhelm my members, but they will benefit greatly.
