A few notes as we approach our lunar cycle…
-Remember when we begin we should set our intention. We should have a clear reason inside as to why we are setting off on this journey. We should know what we are aiming to get out of it. -Remember that just as with everything in life, we get out of it what we put into it. So if we go through it “sort of casually”, “partially”, then we’ll get “sort of casual, partial” results. -Remember that the fast builds discipline. It strengthens our will. This is a Spiritual fast, it strengthens our Spirit. We get better at fasting each time as we do better and better each month, as our Spirit grows stronger. And throughout each month we gain more and more discipline and willpower with everything in life. -We should make a commitment to ourselves to complete a 3 day Spiritual fast. We must truly commit, as there are plenty of reasons to give up, to give in to temptation, plenty of obstacles in our way to keep us from fasting and fall back into the regular automatic routine. -Remember that it’s a 3 day fast regardless. It begins when the moon enters our sun sign. The moon leaves our sun sign in about 2.5 days, sometimes much less, but we still continue the fast for the full 3 days. The process takes about 2.5-3 days. So we should begin cleansing the body days before the moon enters our sign, with healthy Alkaline food and water, then keep the body as empty as possible for the start of the process. I try to go without food for a long time on the first day, then towards the middle I have a little fruit, maybe a carrot, then soup for my main meal. I make red lentil or split pea with a sweet potato mixed in, and I’ve also had pumpkin soup. Then I try to be as empty as possible as it approaches 2.5 days (60 hours after the moon enters my sign), and I target my most powerful/intense breathing routine around that time. After it’s been 2.5 days and I’ve done my best breathing routine, then I will start eating a little more, maybe some chickpea or red lentil pasta, with cucumbers, avocado, olives, other vegetables, raw walnuts, and maybe pumpkin seeds. Things like that.

Expectations: The ears are portals to Consciousness
This is a Spiritual practice that expands Consciousness. We're opening up to Higher Awareness/Consciousness. That said, we should look at it as an ongoing journey. We shouldn't be expecting one big result that we can look at or touch. When we begin our first lunar cycle, we should be planning on considering our results after one full year cycle. One month we might make a giant leap in Consciousness, we might have an extremely visual experience, or an audio experience, or we might have massive eye opening revelations, then we might go a couple month cycles without being able to feel or see much difference. But if we're following it properly and continuing to refine and add to our process, we will continually open up more and more to Higher Awareness, Consciousness will continue to expand inside of us and through us. I understand all of us want some drastic change that we can carry around and show others like a trophy, but that's not what this is about. Even now with all that I've seen/experienced, I still can get caught up in expectations. But I've been through it enough times now to be able to remind myself that it's a steady progression, with some larger leaps during some cycles. It's all by Divine design. We can't control it. All we can do is put ourselves in the best position by being prepared and open to receive the infinite blessings of the Most High. So if you're enjoying the breathing practice you're already doing, then you should definitely stick with that for now. You can always add more in the future. Any alternate nostril breathing should be done during these days, and really everyday, as it wakes up and syncs both hemispheres of the brain. And any breathing routines with long breath holds are key. I would add one little tip during breath holds, and really during any pause in between inhale and exhale, and that is to listen. Listen as attentively as you can during any pause, especially after an inhale, as our brain becomes slightly more alert on an inhale. And the farther out you can expand your hearing/listening, the better.

Setting our intention
Before the moon enters our sun sign, before we begin our journey through this month’s cycle, we should set our intention. Whenever we have a clear intention/purpose in anything we do, this increases our chances of achieving the success/results we desire. Just as if we set an intention to discover or realize/receive the answer/solution to a question we may have, right before we fall asleep, we will receive/realize the answer/solution when we wake up, whether directly after waking or at some point during the next day, or even in a dream that same night. This works the same way when we put our intention to receive as answer into a glass of water the night before, then drink the water the next day. And there are so many variations of these practices that always produce results if we stay alert and tuned in while waiting for the answer. This also always works when we set an intention before a yoga/meditation/breathwork class/routine, we will always receive results if we stay present and alert while remaining open to receive. So before our journey through the next monthly cycle, we can set the intention to expand our awareness, to strengthen our connection to the Divine, to have a Spiritual experience, to have a visual experience, to cleanse ourselves of certain habits, or to simply cleanse ourselves of everything, we can set our intention to receive/understand/know the answer we are currently seeking… Anything. As long as we set a clear intention, and stay present, alert, and aware while expecting the response/result, we can guarantee our success going through this process. Feel free to share any intention you might set, or have set, or any ideas that come to you that could be effective ideas for intentions before entering into the next monthly cycle
