Motivational Monday! Who Do You Need To BE Today?
Full transparency, I had a great morning walk in the woods with my Dad and a leg day that felt like I have the same strength of a couple years ago. However, I had some stink'n think'n about some deadlines and obligations I need to follow through on today.
I found myself ruminating on not getting it done, and not having all the pieces in place to make it happen. However, that was an echo of my old self. My ego usurping itself with stories and dramas to keep me thinking small. Making me feel like I am a victim of circumstances.
I was able to nip it in the bud, and remind myself who and what I am. As William Ernest Henley wrote in Invictus, "I am the master of my fate and captain of my soul."
I control what I focus on and what I want to achieve.
The Remarkable Man within is the man at the helm.
From this place, I am more resourceful, productive and in tune with the solutions I need to have to hit my targets and enjoy the process.
So breathe deep. What Are you up against today? What stories and dramas are you creating that has you feeling helpless or not in control? If this is your scenario, who's doing the talking?
Is it your lower self, The little boy within, or your inner saboteur?
Now breathe deep and bring in the Remarkable Man within. Embody him in every way. Even if it feels you are faking it, it's still a step up from the old self. From this place, ask yourself, "What would a remarkable man do in this situation?" Then do it! Don't think about it! Just do it!.
This is in fact who you really are anyway so why not put him in charge today.
You've got this!
Be remarkable!
