Week 1: What sets Snappy off in .2 seconds
Mine was a kid asking a question I had just answered. The exact same question, thirty seconds later, while I was still standing in the same spot. What's yours?

What counts as a win here
You don't have to have set a boundary with your principal or have fixed your sleep to call something a win. A win is any moment where you noticed something you would have missed a month ago. You caught yourself heading out of your window and did something about it. Or you said no to one small thing. You didn't answer the email at nine at night. Or, you got in the car after a hard day and drove home in silence, giving your nervous system a time to regulate. Post them here. Your nervous system learns from evidence, and this is where we keep the evidence. I'll start. I started sleeping with my phone on do not disturb mode. It's scary because what if something happens, but I'm sleeping so much better without hearing the constant notifications.

What stress loop do you want to close out this weekend?
Open loops drain our energy. When we leave tasks half-done, conversations hanging, or minor worries unresolved, our brains keep running them in the background of everything we do. What is one stress loop you need to close out so you can rest? It could be: - A task like sending that one email you’ve been avoiding. - A boundary such as turning off your work notifications at 5 PM sharp. - Or a mindset like forgiving yourself for something that didn't go too well this week.
Say hi. Tell us three things.
I'll start. I'm Carolyn. I've been a teacher, behavior specialist, professional development coordinator and a few other things along the way. When I left teaching, I felt like a failure. It took me a long time to understand that I couldn't stay because I was living in a constantly activated state, and it wasn't just showing up at work. It was showing up in how I parented, too. Your turn.
