📚 MBA Day 1
Starting with The Lean Startup by Eric Ries. One thing that’s already standing out is this: The goal isn’t to build a product. The goal is to learn what customers actually value as quickly as possible. That hit home because I’ve been spending the last couple of months interviewing beauty and wellness business owners, trying to understand their real problems instead of assuming I already know the answers. So here’s a question for everyone: What’s one lesson you’ve learned the hard way about building a business? It could be about marketing, pricing, customers, systems, mindset, anything. I’d love to hear your biggest takeaway. 👇
📚 MBA Day 1
Weekly Wins & Discoveries
What is one thing you’ve fixed, improved, or figured out this week? Mine: I thought my fountain pump had died. Turns out it was a loose connection and a setting issue. Five minutes of troubleshooting saved me from replacing something that wasn’t actually broken. What’s one thing you’ve figured out this week? Business, life, health, technology, mindset. Anything counts.
Community Building
One of the best parts of being a founder is getting into rooms with people who are building real things. Yesterday I had the opportunity to meet Marquis Forge, CEO of MRaine Industries and founder of Eleven86 Real Artesian Water, at the Auburn University Entrepreneurship & Small Business Development event in Birmingham. What stood out to me was the conversation around ownership, manufacturing, distribution, and what it takes to build a company from the ground up. As someone building Microverse by TraylorMade, I am constantly looking for examples of founders who have done the hard work of creating products, building infrastructure, and serving their communities. And yes, for those who know me, Eleven86 Water is the only water I drink. 💧 Grateful for the connection, the conversation, and the reminder that Alabama is full of founders building incredible things. #FounderLife #Entrepreneurship #MicroverseByTraylorMade #Eleven86Water #BuildingInAlabama #StartupLife #FounderJourney

The Catalyst
Today’s reading from The Starfish and the Spider got me thinking about the role of a catalyst. A catalyst isn’t necessarily the loudest person in the room or even the leader everyone sees. Often they’re the person making introductions, connecting ideas, spotting opportunities, and helping other people move forward. As business owners, we’re often told to focus on sales, marketing, and growth. But I’m curious: 👉 What has been the most valuable connection you’ve made in your business journey? Was it a mentor?A client?A referral partner?A friend who opened a door?A community that helped you think differently? Share your story below. I’d love to hear about one connection that changed the trajectory of your business.
