๐ Sable Bourbon Peach Glazed Drumsticks + Peach Bourbon Sweet Tea
A beginner-friendly summer grill recipe that feels elevated without being complicated.
For the Drumsticks
Ingredients
- 3โ4 lbs chicken drumsticks
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
Peach Bourbon Glaze
- 1 can peaches in juice, drained (reserve 1โ2 tbsp juice)
- ยผ cup bourbon
- 2 tbsp peach preserves
- 3 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 1โ2 tbsp peach juice
- Pinch cinnamon
- Pinch cayenne (optional)
Directions
1. Make the glaze
In a saucepan, combine:
- peaches
- bourbon
- peach preserves
- brown sugar
- Dijon
- apple cider vinegar
- peach juice
- cinnamon
Simmer for 10โ15 minutes.
Mash peaches with a fork until mostly broken down.
Cook until thick and glossy.
Set aside.
2. Season the chicken
Toss drumsticks with:
- olive oil
- salt
- pepper
- garlic powder
- smoked paprika
3. Bake first
Preheat oven to 400ยฐF.
Bake drumsticks on a sheet pan for 25โ30 minutes.
This helps ensure the chicken is cooked through before finishing on the grill.
4. Finish on the grill
Preheat grill to 375โ400ยฐF.
(If using wood chips, place them in foil, poke holes, and set on grill.)
Grill drumsticks:
- 3โ4 minutes on one side
- Flip
- 3โ4 minutes on the other side
Then glaze:
Brush glaze on both sides, flipping every 2โ3 minutes.
Repeat 2โ3 times until sticky and caramelized.
Internal temp should be 175โ185ยฐF.
๐ฅ Peach Bourbon Sweet Tea
Ingredients
- 1 cup black tea, chilled
- 1ยฝโ2 oz bourbon
- 1โ2 tbsp peach juice (from canned peaches)
- Ice
- Peach slice for garnish (optional)
Directions
- Brew tea and let cool.
- Fill glass with ice.
- Add bourbon.
- Add peach juice.
- Top with tea.
- Stir and enjoy.
Optional: garnish with peach slices or rosemary.
