I've been meaning to make this post for a while, so let's get right to it.
1.) I'll be giving a presentation at Edu361 Expo July 25th. Here's the link to the event: https://www.proed.com.vn/edu361expo. Below is the topic I submitted (on a whim, really) and it got accepted: For anyone who uses Twee for educational materials, you might find this helpful!
Title: Industry Relevance in Business English: How Twee Revolutionizes Adaptive Adult ESL Education
Abstract: Founded in 2023, Twee is an AI curriculum designed for teachers in language education. It provides a variety of tools that generate vocabulary, grammar, text, and questions based on simple prompts. Rather than try to "fit" students' needs based on pre-made lesson plans and textbooks, this site allows teachers to develop entire lessons that actively incorporate specific industry terminology at various CFR levels for textual and conversational relevancy. Future business English instruction will be better aligned with the students' specific background rather than general occupational language.
Key takeaways:
- The Need for Industry Adaptation in Adult ESL
- Ways Twee Can Bridge the Educational Gap Between Student Needs and Language-Appropriate Material

2.) This week, I'll be pursuing Level 2 of my Gamification certification with Sententia Gamification. This is a 3-week course with a presentation due in August. My hope is to better integrate games into my coaching and teaching practices with the experience I gain (and maybe be more desirable as an educator for other part-time work!) I'll even be creating a game prototype as my final project.
I'll also be pursuing a Geek Therapy Certification (basically a 2-hour course) July 19th. Their mission is "to advocate for and teach the effective and meaningful use of popular media in therapeutic, educational, and community practice." So I thought that might be interesting.
3.) I ran a free workshop last Saturday (and it was almost a disaster!) Basically, I did it through Eventbrite, but what I didn't realize was getting a free ticket didn't necessarily mean people were actively invited. Plus, the times were off - some people thought it was a few hours later. Luckily, a few people did attend and I felt like I did provide value. I sent out a survey and 1 person gave me 8 stars out of 10. Here's the workshop link if you want to see how I did it: https://youtu.be/_rNO2yuJ6Ok So yeah, it's quite a July! I just hope it'll all lead to sales...eventually. 😄
