Happy 4th of July, The Cherished Caregiver Circle!
Wishing you a happy, safe Independence Day as we celebrate the 250th birthday of the United States of America (USA). If the fireworks and neighborhood noise feel overwhelming for you, your loved one, or your pets, here are a few quick ways to make tonight easier:
  1. Create a “calm corner” (dim lights, favorite blanket, familiar items).
  2. Use steady sound: a fan, soft music, or white noise to help cover the booms.
  3. Close windows/curtains early and keep routines as normal as possible.
  4. For pets: keep them indoors, ID tags on, and offer a cozy spot to hide; try a lick mat or chewy treat as a distraction.
  5. Give extra grace—this is a sensory-heavy day, and it’s okay to keep things simple. How do you celebrate the 4th?
