Transformational That Begins on the Inside
Jesus' disciples were His followers. Jesus told them, "Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men." (Matthew 4:19). Jesus' statement communicated right at the start that if the disciples followed Him, they would become different. As they followed Jesus He would transform them. As the disciples grew, & matured, they become refined and transformed throughout their journey with Jesus. Therefore, if we are to lead like Jesus, you must have a surrenderd heart towards Him. It begins with leaders examining themselves by asking the question; (1.) Whose am ? (2.) Who am I? Tha answer defines the ultimate authority of your life. Blanchard, Hodges, Hendry, 2016

The Different Views of Leadership
When we describe leadership, there are different views that we can look at it. For the next couple of weeks, we will discuss some of the different types of leaders. This will give you an opportunity to reflect on yourself as a leader. TRAIT LEADERSHIP: A person that is viewed as having a "the: gift or natural talent to lead. They may be seen as the perfect height, having intelligence, have an extraverted personality, fluency and able to inluence followers. PROCESS LEADERSHIP: Interaction with their follower. This leadership quality of interaction with followers can also be one that emergerges into leadership. They many not be assigned as a leader, but they are someone who emerges as a leader by being verbally involved, being informed, seekin others' opinions, initiating new ideas and being firm but not rigid (Ellis & Fisher, 1994). As you can see that Trait leadership gives the perspective that certain people are born to lead, if they have certain traits, Process Leadership viewpoint suggest that leadrship is a phenomenon that resides in the context of the interactions between leaders and followers. Which leadership definition do you see yourself?

NEW MINDSET
I want to continue in the mode of thinking about gardening our followers. As we know, followers is another term we use for our team members. Each of our team members have their unique gifts and talents. Let's continue this week in focusing on our team members needs and growth patterns. If we find that a team member is not progressing in their given task ot position, then as leaders we are to empathize, and find out what might be their challenge. Yes it takes a grand amount of humility and patience in learning more about our team members individually, but remember we are growing a garden..
