How to handle rejection.
Rejection from a job feels horrible especially when you feel you’ve given it everything. You haven’t failed if you haven’t given up. It might just take a little longer than planned. Remaining patient with the process is key and once you get your first small win it feels euphoric - or at least that’s how I felt! Here are some tips to manage it: #1 Read your application again and highlight any areas you think could be improved. You'd be surprised what you'll find especially when it's been a few weeks and maybe you've sent off other applications. Can you word paragraphs better? Are your skills clear and relevant? Are your highest achievements front and centre? #2 Ask a friend or family member to take a look. A fresh perspective might offer you new insights that you can include! # 3 Take it professionally and not personally. A rejection is just a redirection and not a personal attack on you and what you've achieved. The same application might land you an interview elsewhere and there may be other factors outside of your ability to do the job that meant you weren't the right candidate right now so don't give up! A door will open eventually as long as you hang in there! How do you handle rejection? Share your experiences below 👇
