Small And Imperfectly Formed.
I set Sorted up because I was feeling quietly anxious about the future while also trying to juggle work, family, and the day-to-day reality of modern life. Everything felt a bit more fragile than it used to (money, time, systems we rely on), not to mention that looming threat of climate change and political instability across the globe. I wanted a way to feel more prepared for these challenges without panicking or living in a constant state of stress. Starting small is part of that. This is a space to slow things down and build useful skills and habits gradually - things that make life feel steadier, cheaper, less wasteful, and more sustainable over time. And most importantly, to do it community with each other.

What Is Sorted and Why It Exists
Sorted exists because a lot of us can feel it - life is becoming less predictable, more expensive, and harder to rely on. Systems feel fragile. Time feels squeezed. And when you’re balancing work, family, and everything else, it’s easy to feel quietly panicked about whether you’re actually prepared for what’s coming. This community is a way to respond to that, calmly and practically. Sorted is about making small, sustainable changes that increase our resilience, reduce waste and costs, and help everyday life run with less friction. We focus on real skills: feeding ourselves well, preserving food, growing a little of what we eat, sharing the mental load, and building simple systems that hold up when life gets busy. Nothing here is about perfection, off-grid living, or doing everything at once. It’s about steady improvements that add up, learning alongside others, reconnecting with practical skills and with nature, and remembering that preparation doesn’t have to mean fear.

We have life!
Here lads, as a self-professed killer of anything green, look at these! Pea shoots (half are going to be garnish for food and I’m going to attempt to grow the other half into proper peas). These have been so easy and I’m buzzing! Today some pea shoots, tomorrow a farm!
