We Build Better Contractors From the Ground Up
Hey Blueprint fam, Most coaches start at the top. More leads. More ads. More systems. We start at the bottom. Because if the man is broken, the business stays broken. That’s the core of the Better Pro Blueprint. We help contractors rebuild from the ground up: Faith first. Family next. Fitness to carry the load. Then Finance becomes the natural result. When you get those four locked in, everything else starts working. You close stronger. You lead better. You stop leaking money. You actually enjoy the business you built. This is not about more hustle. This is about becoming the kind of man who can build a real business that supports his family. Reply below and tell me: Which part of your foundation needs the most work right now? Let’s build better. — Chris

Sunday Close: Finish This Week Strong and Build for Next Week
Hey Blueprint fam, It’s Sunday. Time to close the week like a man. Look back at the last 7 days. What did you crush? What did you let slip? Where did you show up for your family… and where did you fall short? Don’t lie to yourself. Be honest. Own it. Then turn the page. Use today to reset. Plan your week like a leader. Protect your mornings. Get in the gym. Spend real time with your wife and kids not just “being in the house.” Lock in your money moves for the week ahead. Close this week strong. Build momentum for the next one. Remember the 4Fs: Faith. Family. Fitness. Finance. When those four are in order, everything else in your business falls into place. How did you close this week? What’s one thing you’re locking in for next week? Drop it below. Let’s go into this new week like men who lead. I’m right here with you. — Chris

We think we are home, but in reality the mind and body is somewhere else.
Hey Blueprint fam, Let’s talk about something heavy. A lot of us think we’re doing a good job as men. We provide. We work hard. We come home at night. But the truth is we’re not really there. We’re physically in the house, but mentally we’re still on the job site. We’re scrolling our phones while our kids are trying to tell us about their day. We’re exhausted, short-tempered, and only half-present with our wife. We tell ourselves we’re doing it for them… but deep down we know something is missing. You’ve lost some of that confidence as a man. You feel it. You know you’re not showing up the way you used to — the way you want to. Here’s the hard truth I’ve learned: Everything in your business starts with the man you are at home. When you become a stronger man when you lead your family with presence, discipline, and real love everything else gets better. You show up to sales calls with more confidence. You close deals with more authority. You lead your team with calm strength instead of stress. You stop leaving money on the table because you’re no longer making tired, emotional decisions. It all starts at home. With you. With God in your heart. With being fully present for your family. You don’t fix your business by working harder. You fix it by becoming a better man first. Reply below and be real with yourself: Where do you feel like you’ve been “there” physically but not really present for your family? Let’s start building stronger men who lead stronger families and stronger businesses. I’m right here with you. — Chris

Hiring Is the #1 Problem Killing Most Home Service Businesses Right Now
Hey Blueprint fam, Hiring is the biggest issue facing contractors in 2026. The labor shortage is real. HVAC alone is short over 110,000 techs. Plumbing is heading toward a 550,000 worker shortage by 2027. Every time you lose a trained tech, it costs you $25,000 to $50,000 in rehiring, retraining, lost productivity, and lost jobs. But here’s what most contractors don’t want to admit: You’re not just losing people to the market. You’re losing them because your hiring process is broken. You hire the first warm body that walks in the door. No real screening. No system. No questions that actually reveal character. Then you’re shocked when they no-show, drag the crew down, or leave and take customers with them. The truth is simple: Skills get you hired. Attitude keeps you employed. If you want to stop the expensive revolving door, you have to get much better at who you let on your truck. Start with these basics: - Screen every applicant fast if they can’t communicate with you, they won’t communicate with your customers. - Ask the right questions in the interview to expose attitude and coachability. - Check references properly and look for red flags like frequent job hopping or blaming others. - Hire slow. A mediocre hire costs more than an empty seat. - Once you have good people, keep them with clear expectations, fair pay, training, and recognition. Hiring and retention is one of the biggest leaks in most home service businesses right now. Reply below and be honest: What’s been your biggest struggle with hiring or keeping good techs lately? Let’s talk about how to fix this. I’m right here with you. — Chris
