Attachment Style Resource
I wanted to share a resource with you all. Since many of you are already spending time inside Skool, I highly recommend checking out another community called Returning to Eden. I’m currently working through the classwork there myself, and even though I’m still in Lesson 1, it’s already been very deep and foundational. The lessons focus on attachment styles, emotional patterns, and how our nervous system shows up in relationships. On a personal note, the community itself is not super active, and Trevor has a very different style than what we do here, but the classwork and assignments are incredibly insightful and deeply spiritual. The exercises really help you begin to see your patterns and understand your attachment style in a very eye opening way. Attachment styles are essentially how we learned to relate to safety and connection, and that shows up not only in relationships with people but also in how we relate to God. Ultimately, the goal of healing is moving toward earned secure attachment, where we feel safe in connection. Spiritually, that means learning to feel safe with the Lord. Many wilderness seasons are actually about God teaching us to trust His presence even when we feel uncertain, unseen, or uncomfortable. Understanding your attachment style can help you recognize how you respond to God during the wilderness. Do you pull away? Do you become anxious? Do you try to control outcomes? These patterns often mirror our relationship patterns. The creator of Returning to Eden is also the author of the first book we’ll be reading for Book Club. 📖 The Significance of a Woman by Trevor Fultz Because of that, I think the material in Returning to Eden pairs really well with what we’ll be studying together. Book Club will be starting in the next week or two, so if you’d like to participate I recommend grabbing a copy of the book so you can read along with us. I’m still working through the lessons myself, but I’ve already found them very helpful, and I think some of you may really benefit from the exercises as well.
