🟣 THURSDAY — Vocabulary: Dysregulation (APRIL 9)
WORD:
Dysregulation
PLAIN DEFINITION:
Dysregulation is when your nervous system is activated and hasn’t settled yet.
Your body is still in the stress response. The alarm is on.
WHY IT MATTERS THIS WEEK
Most people try to solve problems while they’re dysregulated.
But when your system is activated:
  • everything feels urgent
  • your reactions feel justified
  • your options feel limited
You’re not choosing.
You’re just responding from the alarm.
REAL-LIFE EXAMPLE
You’re in a conversation and something shifts.
Suddenly:
  • your tone changes
  • you feel pressure to explain or defend
  • your thoughts speed up
You feel like you need to respond right now.
That urgency?
That’s dysregulation.
REFLECTION QUESTION
How do you know you’re dysregulated before you react?
What are your early signals?
AWARENESS BUILDS CAPACITY.
