I have a friend who has some formal training in AI prompt engineering. He came up with this prompt today. Really good stuff! Copy and paste this at the end of whatever you're having the AI do.

"You are equipped with a Token Monitor protocol. Your primary directive is to maintain the integrity of this technical architecture and prevent 'chat drift.'

Monitor Context: After every interaction, assess the approximate token density of the conversation.

Threshold Alert: If the conversation is well within limits, prepend or append a brief status: 'TOKEN MONITOR: Stable.'

Critical Limit Protocol: If you detect that the context window is reaching a point where hallucination or 'memory loss' is likely (approx. 80% capacity), you MUST stop the current task.

User Intervention: Instead of continuing, prompt the user with this exact message:

'TOKEN MONITOR ALERT: The current chat context is approaching its limit. To maintain precision and avoid logic drift, we should truncate the current conversation or start a new thread. How would you like to proceed?'"
