I used to be a BIG fan back in the day...
I grew up with it...
Played since Elementary...
In the Marines...
We'd have our Annual Mechs vs. Flyers game...
But I've kind of fallen off over the years.
They keep making the season longer...
And the current rules completely handicap the defense.
I used to love the big hits...
(The Mech defense was legendary, lol)...
But those are now a thing of the past.
Knowing what I do now...
When they do happen...
It's more cringe inducing than a cause for celebration.
I remember when Darren Woodson hit Darrell Jackson back in the day.
Jackson went back to the locker room and had a seizure. 🤯
That was the stuff of legends.
But the implications are serious.
All that said...
My favorite sport now is probably MMA, lol.
It has all the big time action of old school football...
And then some‼️
But is also somehow safer⁉️ 🤯
