"Book recommendation: The whole-brain child"
One of the best parenting books I read last year was The Whole-Brain Child by Daniel J. Siegel and Tina Payne Bryson. It offers valuable lessons and reflections based on brain science applied to children’s development, behavior, and cognitive growth.
One of my favorite excerpts was this:
“All the attributes we’ve discussed of a well-integrated upstairs brain culminate in one of the most important goals for our kids: a deep sense of morality. When children can make sound decisions and simultaneously control themselves while acting with empathy and self-understanding, they develop a solid, active sense of morality—a sense not just of right and wrong, but of a greater good beyond their individual needs.”
