Instagram v youtube

I'm just ironing out a few issues with my recording process and was wondering what the difference between posting the videos on Instagram is as apposed to youtube?

I know youtube has a massive audience. Is it worth posting on both or focussing on growing a youtube following/presence?

I thought about adding a few photos to Instagram with a link to youtube for the actual recorded stories.

Any thoughts would be appreciated 🙂

I've just read that Instagram can copy or use any content basically, as they wish. Youtube doesn't seem to have such a free reign. Maybe I've answered my own question!
