Hi everyone - I’m Susan 👋

I am a South African-born ceramic artist living in Brisbane. I immigrated as a teenager with my family (a long time ago!) and finished growing up in Airlie Beach. I studied graphic design when I finished school and spent three decades working in the field before discovering ceramics in 2020.

I found an affinity for clay and a love for the ceramic process and now I work from my home studio in Camp Hill where I create hand-built sculptural ceramic forms that draw on my love of the natural world and reflect my commitment to craftsmanship and the transformative power of art.

I am excited to be here and am looking forward to learning new things, getting to know you all and planning, making and preparing for a solo show in the Emergent Gallery in May next year.
