One thing I realized about my parents after doing this exercise is… They’re not avoiding teaching their kids about money because they don’t care — they’re avoiding it because they care so much and are afraid of doing it wrong. They want to do better but don’t know how — and that fear often sounds like frustration or silence. When I meet them with calm tools and simple rituals, I’m not just teaching money — I’m helping them rebuild confidence in themselves as parents. It reminded me that my job isn’t to give them more information; it’s to give them permission to start small, imperfectly, and with love.
