KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Third-seeded Florida State claimed its fifth NCAA Division I Women’s College Cup title with a 1-0 victory over top-seeded Stanford at CPKC Stadium.
Striker Wrianna Hudson scored the game-winning goal in the 87th minute, her second of the tournament and 15th of the season. Goalkeeper Kate Ockene delivered nine saves, earning her second clean sheet of the College Cup.
The Seminoles’ defense held Stanford scoreless for the first time since September 7, securing the ACC’s 27th national title.
Florida State’s win marked the third consecutive season an ACC team has reached the Women’s College Cup final.
⚽ - How Did Jordynn Dudley Not Make the All-Tournament Team?
True freshman goalkeeper Kate Ockene was phenomenal, with nine saves in the championship match, but how impressive was Jordynn Dudley? Dudley was everywhere.
It’s shocking that Dudley didn’t make the NCAA Division I Women’s College Cup All-Tournament Team—her performance absolutely warranted a spot. She was hands down the best player on the field last night!!
