Absence
There is a building that was once a home
Inside is his room
Perfectly preserved like the paint that clings to the walls
The jacket's on the hook
The crumpled notes of paper remain on the desk
The artist's toolkit is untouched by other hands
There is no clock here
And no expiration date for grief
You could be forgiven for thinking his absence is temporary, like the sun's farewell at night
The summer has gone
Now the rain replaces the tears
He has not gone
He lives in the world unseen
Where time has no meaning and love is undiminished
