🎯 First Challenge: Build Your Opening Bit (Tight 1-Minute Setup)
[WRITING CHALLENGE #1] Welcome to the Stand-Up Starter Pack! Let’s get your first laughs on purpose. Your first challenge is simple but powerful: Write a 1-minute opening bit—your intro, your vibe, your “this is me” moment on stage. This is the first thing you’d say on the mic. Think: - A joke about your name or appearance - A quick funny observation about yourself or the audience - Something weird or unexpected that grabs attention - A short bit that sets your tone and POV (point of view) ✍️ How to participate: 1. Write 3–5 sentences max (~60 seconds of stage time). 2. Post it in the comments below. 3. Feel free to give feedback (with kindness!) to others who post. You don’t need to overthink it. Don’t try to be perfect—just be funny-ish. We’ll help you make it better. That’s the whole point. 🎤 🧠 Prompt Examples: - “So I look like the before photo in every gym commercial…” - “My name is Mike, which is ironic because I’ve never held one successfully until now.” - “I didn’t grow up in a strict household. My mom was more of a ‘you do you’ type... which explains a lot, right?” 🔥 Bonus: If you're feeling bold, record a video of your bit and drop it below. No pressure, just good practice! This is the start of your set. This is the start of your momentum. Let’s punch it up together. 💥 Drop your 1-minute bit below! ⬇️
