So I decided to share a story that I know I promised a few people a while back.
Back in 2014, during my yoga teacher training in Spain, we had to teach a demo class at the end. I was first up. First day, first thing in the morning. I went to bed early thinking I’d be rested and ready.
Then… I felt a sharp pain in my ankle. I pulled back the covers and found a big fluffy black-and-white caterpillar in my bed. I didn’t even know caterpillars could bite, but this one did. I completely panicked. I couldn’t even figure out how to unlock my door and ended up waking the person in the next room because I just needed to get out.
There was no chance I was sleeping in that room after that. I sat in the communal living room trying to rest on the sofa, but I didn’t sleep at all. So I had to teach my assessment class the next morning with zero sleep. Luckily, I still passed because I actually knew how to teach… but wow, what a night.
There isn’t a deep point to this story, but if there’s one thing to take from it, it’s this: trust your own abilities. Even when life surprises you in the most random ways, you still have what you need inside you.
Hope this little story made you smile.
