Over 30 years ago I was dealing with a lot of pain in my neck and upper shoulders suffering with daily headaches from a whiplash injury. I finally agreed to go see a Chiropractor. During that visit I had 5 vertebras out of alignment and my muscles were so tight he recommended me to come see him 3 times a week and he wanted me to get a deep tissue massage. I went to get my massage, and i was so tight she recommended that I see her once a week for 4-6 weeks! I had never invested that kind of money into myself, and after 6 weeks I felt better, the headaches stoped, I was sleeping better, I wasn’t in pain anymore. I was a young mom, and had only had a couple of massages for a birthday gift. I had no idea there was medical benefit to regular massage therapy. It was working so well for my headaches and pain, that I sent my mom and Nana to see the massage therapist too. When my nana developed diabetic neuropathy, I bought essential oils and some books and learned how to help her. My mom was needing carpal tunnel surgery and asked if massage could help her, so I started working on her too. She has never had surgery for her hands.
