A quick gut check for anyone scrolling past a scholarship right now.
You're disqualifying yourself from a scholarship before a reviewer ever gets the chance to.
One line in the requirements sounds like a hard no, so you close the tab and move on.
Most students never email to actually ask. Eligibility criteria sometimes has more flexibility than the wording suggests, especially with smaller or newer scholarships.
One email costs you nothing, and the worst outcome is the same no you'd already given yourself.
Try this. "Hi, I noticed the eligibility requirement states [X]. I currently have [Y]. Would I still be eligible to apply."
Drop below a scholarship you talked yourself out of without ever asking.
