🌧️🍲 The poems about the wind singing around the corners of the house only truly made sense to me after moving to the West Coast.
Today is one of those proper winter days… cold, rainy, and with the wind wrapping herself around the corners of the house, singing her familiar song. 🌬️🏡
And somehow, it made me miss the days when my home was filled with kiddie laughter. Not in a sad way at all, but in a deeply grateful way. ❤️
In my mother-in-law's house, you only got pancakes on a Sunday if it was raining. 🥞☔ It was one of those little traditions that made rainy days feel extra special. I love her to bits for those precious memories. ❤️
In our home, days like today meant the kids could drag their mattresses into the living room and make a giant "Christmas bed." 🎄🛏️ We'd pile on the blankets, snuggle up, watch movies all day, and just enjoy being together. 📺🍿
Today, the house is quiet.
Only Ash is softly snoring beside me. 🐶💤
The slow cooker is gently bubbling away with vegetable soup. 🍲 And soon, I'll be climbing into my warm bed with a movie and letting the rain and wind do their thing outside. 🛌✨
Funny how winter days have a way of wrapping us up not only in blankets but also in memories. 🤗❤️
