What If Creating Doesn't Begin With Doing?
Sacred I was journaling during last night’s Sacred Writing Session and wondered how often we feel stuck because we've been taught to act first. “Just start writing, and the words will come,” they say. I've said it too.
My dad used to tell me to think before I spoke. Or at least he tried to. 😂 I never really understood how that was possible. Until now.
Although it's not really about thinking first.
We've associated creating with doing, but what if, before you open your journal and start writing the sentence, you listen? Can you become quiet enough to notice what's there? The idea, the question, an inner knowing, and then the action comes. The words emerge, and you recognize the next step.
Maybe the Sacred Pause isn't a pause from creating. Maybe it's where creating begins.
Where in your creative process are you acting before you've listened?
Writing begins with coherence.
