Why do we wait for Saturday or Sunday?
Why do we wait for Sabbath when the sun goes down?
Why do we wait until the diagnosis, the heartbreak, the fear, or the uncertainty becomes too heavy to carry?
Why do we wait for the prayer to be answered before believing we have been heard?
What if God was never far?
What if God has been meeting you all along?
In the breath that returned to your lungs this morning without asking whether you deserved it.
In the heartbeat that has faithfully carried you through joy, grief, mistakes, and new beginnings without demanding perfection.
In the wind that touched your face as you stepped outside, whispering, “I’ve got you.”
In the sun that rose again without your permission, reminding you, “Worry not. I see you.”
In the flower that looked broken only days ago and now bears new life, mirroring your own becoming.
In the stranger who held the door.
The child who laughed.
The friend who checked in.
The tears that finally fell.
The strength you didn’t know you had.
Perhaps God is not only found in sermons, sanctuaries, and desperate prayers.
Perhaps God is also found in the sacred ordinary.
In this moment.
In this breath.
In this life.
You do not have to wait for a crisis to recognize that you are held.
Look around.
Love has been finding you all day.
“Maybe the miracle isn’t that God finally arrived. Maybe it’s realizing God never left”
