What Single Motherhood Really Looks Like in 2025
Before we get into the sisterhood and the stories, let’s start with the truth. Not opinions. Not stereotypes. Facts. Because when you look at the actual numbers on single motherhood in the US, it paints a very different picture than the one society likes to push. 80% of Black single mothers are the primary breadwinner AND caregiver. Nearly 60% of single moms work full-time AND manage childcare alone Single mothers are one of the fastest-growing segments of entrepreneurs. The average cost of childcare in the U.S. rivals in-state college tuition. Black single mothers are more likely to pursue higher education while raising kids than any other group. These numbers prove one thing: single moms aren’t struggling we’re strategizing. And this space is for all of us building community, clarity, stability, and a soft life on our terms. 💛
