Weekly Family Support Zoom is happening in 26 hours
Welcome to Sober Helpline!
If someone you love is struggling with addiction, you may feel as though your entire life has become focused on managing the next crisis. You watch the phone. You cover bills. You try to prevent consequences. You search for the right words, the right treatment program, or the one conversation that might finally change everything. Meanwhile, your own health, peace, relationships, and judgment begin to suffer. My name is Matt Brown. I have been sober for 23 years and have spent 22 years helping individuals and families affected by addiction. I created this community because families deserve support before everything falls apart, not just after a crisis. The Family Recovery Room will help you understand addiction, recognize how it changes the entire family system, and make healthier decisions without shame, blame, or punishment. Inside the community, you’ll find: - Practical education about addiction and family recovery - Help separating compassionate support from enabling - Guidance for establishing and maintaining boundaries - Communication tools for difficult conversations - Support for parents, spouses, siblings, grandparents, and adult children - Information about treatment, intervention, and early recovery - Invitations to our Monday Family Squares Zoom meeting - A place to ask questions and learn from families facing similar situations We do not teach “tough love,” and we will never tell you that your loved one must simply want recovery badly enough. Addiction is a medical disease with a spiritual solution. Families need recovery too. You do not have to wait for the addicted person to become ready before you begin changing how addiction affects your home. A few important expectations Please protect your family’s privacy. Do not post full names, addresses, medical records, treatment locations, or details that could identify another person. This community provides education and support. It is not emergency care, medical treatment, therapy, legal advice, or a substitute for working with qualified professionals. If anyone is in immediate danger, call 911. For a mental health or suicide crisis in the United States, call or text 988.
