We’re often taught to “handle” our urges…
To wait them out.
Control them.
Push through.
And honestly… I understand why.
But what I’ve come to see is this…
It’s not just about getting through the urge.
It’s about understanding what’s underneath it.
Because most urges aren’t about food…
They’re about:
restlessness
loneliness
overwhelm
disconnection
So I’ve been trying something simple.
When I feel an urge… I pause.
And ask:
👉 What am I actually feeling right now?
👉 Where do I feel it in my body?
And every time I do that… I drop a bead into a jar.
Not because I resisted…
But because I noticed.
Over time, something starts to shift.
You don’t just get better at handling urges…
You become someone who understands yourself.
If you try this, I’d love to hear what you notice 💛
