49 years ago today: 165 dead in Beverly Hills Supper Club Fire
I remember this night well. I was one of the nurses who answered the call to go help the next day. I was given the job of taking identifying objects off the bodies. Watches, rings, wallets, etc. It was overwhelming to see 165 bodies laid out on the floor of the armory. Some bodies were burnt; some bodies were fully intact, dying of smoke inhalation. I will never forget. The images are etched in my memory forever.
