Dare #5
The Dare: Your dare is to completely outlaw the word "should" from your vocabulary for a full day. When a duty pops up, reframe it around your personal choices and true desires: "I want to finish this project because I value my peace of mind." The Psychology: "shoulds" are internalized critics that keep bad habits locked in place through shame. When you explicitly choose your "wants," you shift your brain from a reactive, defensive state into a state of emotional fluidity and empowerment, rewiring your neural pathways away from anxiety and toward self-acceptance. If you want you can listen to todays episode that inspired this .... Listen on Spotify Good Luck, Michelle
The Dare: "The 30-Minute Brain Pick" ๐Ÿšจ#Dare 3
Your Mission: Reach out to someone who is a few steps ahead of you in life, career, or a specific hobby, and lock in a 30-minute coffee chat (in-person or virtual). The goal? Soak up some wisdom, ask your burning questions, and expand your circle. ๐ŸŽš๏ธ Choose Your Difficulty Level: - Mild (The Friend Zone): Reach out to an acquaintance, a friend of a friend, or a colleague you look up to but don't know super well. - Spicy (The Total Stranger): Cold-message someone on LinkedIn, Instagram, or via email whose work or lifestyle you genuinely admire. The Script (Copy & Paste this!) If you aren't sure what to say, use this template to reach out: "Hey [Name]! Iโ€™ve been following your journey with [mention a specific thing they do, e.g., photography / marketing / building your business], and I really admire your approach to [specific detail]. I'm currently trying to learn more about this space. Would you be open to a quick 30-minute coffee or Zoom chat sometime next week? I'd love to ask you a couple of quick questions. No pressure at all, but I'd love to buy you a coffee if you have the time!" โšก๏ธ3 Golden Rules for the Chat: 1. Be respectful of time: When the clock hits 30 minutes, acknowledge it. ("I want to respect your time, we are at 30 minutes!") If they want to keep talking, great! If not, wrap it up. 2. Come prepared: Have 3 solid questions ready to go so there is zero awkward silence. 3. Follow up: Send a quick "thank you" message the next day telling them one specific takeaway you got from the conversation. ๐Ÿ”ฅ Proof of Completion: To check this dare off your list, you must post a selfie of the two of you (or a screenshot of your Zoom/Teams call) in the group!
๐Ÿ•ต๏ธโ€โ™‚๏ธ Calling Bullsh*t on Your Inner Critic #Dare 2
This week's Dare! Let's talk about the lies we tell ourselves. Lately, mine has been: "Don't bother reaching out to big sponsors, the show isn't valuable enough yet." Total nonsense. I have a proven track record, amazing listeners, and a highly valuable show. But our brains love to protect us by keeping us small, and mine is driving me crazy! I'm stepping out of my own way today, and I'm dragging you with me. Your Dare: What "fact" about your business/ lives or capabilities have you been stressing over that is actually just a limiting belief? Drop your biggest Inner critic comments below! No judgements just a call out for your own sanity ๐Ÿ‘Š๐Ÿป
Week 1 Dare:
Introduce yourself and big yourself up like never before, we are absolutely here for it! ๐Ÿ”ฅ Once you've posted, drop some love on another member's intro to let them know they're seen. Let's go!
