Greetings Mystiks! Let's talk about what it means to be a lineage holder... 1️⃣ You are not first. You are last. The decent of knowledge is coming from previous generations and traditions. Being a lineage holder in the modern world has become more difficult as many people carry more than one bloodline. Sometimes those bloodlines conquered others, exploited them and dominated them. 2️⃣ Honor the wisdom of culture. Acknowledge the elder teachings and keep things pure. When you are attracted to many different cultures, as many are now mixing and matching, we still have a duty to keep traditions both together and separate. 3️⃣ Honor all systems of traditions. It doesn’t mean you need to know everything from all the different schools of thoughts but some systems are meant to stay together. Like Vedic Cosmology and deity worship. If you do not understand the way the universe works, how can you understand the servants and personality that keep it going? 4️⃣ Stay in your lane. Lineage holders do not speak of things they have not studied themselves. They do not spread colonized systems to be more palatable to a wider audience. Happy Spring Mystiks! 🌱 A friend once mentioned that not everyone is privileged enough to go to India for six months or live in another country. And yes—that’s true. But there’s a subtle nuance I want to explore: it’s not just about privilege. It’s also about desire. Because here’s the truth: I graduated college, sold my car, and left with $2,000 for a six-month trip to India. I took a job in Ecuador because I posted my resume on a travel-abroad site. I moved to Mexico City to start an ashram, a Bhakti Yoga Center, living on someone else’s dream. I visited India multiple times, giving up jobs, social life, and using PayPal Credit to make travel financially manageable (highly recommend if you need flexibility). After that, I returned to California and worked three jobs to keep my flexible lifestyle alive—then started my business during the pandemic. Now, I have been living between California and Mexico the past 5 years—and I notice something: this life, this freedom, this flexibility… this is what I envisioned for myself. It wasn’t just privilege. It wasn’t just desire. It was desire meeting opportunity and choice, over and over again. Living between three locations—California, Mexico, and Southeast Asia—the bigger picture is closer to being fully realized. I’ve made it within myself. I feel steady, even during major movement, because it’s the mission I live for. And it’s not only about where I live. It’s also the work I create: my poetry, my music, and the albums I dream of releasing—more books, more art, more expressions of the path I’ve chosen. The bigger picture isn’t just a place; it’s a life fully lived, fully expressed, fully made real. 👁️‍🗨️ I’m curious—what desires are calling you right now? Creative, personal, or otherwise. ➡️ On Wednesday, we gather for our March SDM Circle. A space to be witnessed in your process—your ideas, your dreams, and even the parts that feel uncertain. We’ll drop into meditation with the seedlings you’re planting in this new season.
