One of my favourite stores to buy from
Hipstamp is a site that has gone downhill over the last few years. The quality of images has declined, pricing is often hilarious, and yet bargains are to be found. The American Philatelic Society (APS) funnels all its members sales through Hipstamp, and quite frankly they haven't got much of a clue about anything non-US related https://www.hipstamp.com/store/aps-stamp-store Here's two examples that I received today. Pic 1 - Croatia 1943 18k+9k overprinted, catalogue value £14, sold to me for $4. But, see the little "S" in the window on the second image? That's an engraver's mark which appeared on a few stamps in each sheet. Retail value $40 Pic 2 - GB 1865 4d Vermilion plate 11, catalogue value is £90, but readily available everywhere at £10, sold to me for $10. The postmark however is from the British post office in St Thomas, Danish West Indies, which catalogues as "from" £50. I'll sell this for around $35 Easy money again.

Staying informed saves money
I subscribe to a large number of auction websites, including websites that list all upcoming auctions from different auctioneers. Getting an early heads-up is important for auctions if you're a serious bidder https://www.icollector.com/ is one I can recommend for non-stamp collectors. If you're into comics, pokemon, cards, coins, etc, etc, you should subscribe
Selling quirky items makes your store eye-candy for buyers
I listed these today, and I don't think I've seen them elsewhere. Large CTO with gum blocks of Australian Navigators, and large MUH blocks of KGVI-era issues. They're not expensive and items like these make your store visually different and make people look for longer. The longer they stay, the more likely they are to buy. Yet another reason why I push the quality over quantity logic in Ebay stores!

B1D.com
B1D.com has been around for a couple of years now and, after some teething problems, has become attractive enough for some major dealers to open shops. There's currently over 200,000 items listed, and most shops are run by GB-based companies, which appeals to me. Worth a look!

Another terrible Ebay seller
This one seemingly doesn't own a catalogue, or a scanner. Virtually every one of their listings is a pricing abomination, including all the common 1d red kangaroos that have invisible cracked electros! https://www.ebay.com.au/usr/ashelna-81362101 How about Hong Kong 1946 $1 Victory MUH, CV £3.25, listed for $70, or Australia 1961 5d Christmas, CV £0.10, listed for $25? They've sold 94 items, have 16 followers, and 96.1% feedback. I do despair! Perhaps I should invite them to join the community so they can learn how to sell properly?
