One year ago today, this was me. In a hospital bed. Fresh out of transplant surgery. Surrounded by tubes, monitors, medication, prayers, and the people who loved me enough to stand in the room while my life changed. I had spent more than two decades living with chronic kidney disease. I had gone through dialysis. I had learned how quickly life can become defined by numbers — creatinine, eGFR, blood pressure, lab results, medication levels. But on September 16, 2025, I received something no number could fully measure: a second chance. And that second chance came through my sister. She gave me more than a kidney. She gave me time. She gave me possibility. She gave me the chance to keep building, keep loving, keep creating, and keep becoming. There will never be enough words to fully explain what that gift means to me. Today marks one year since my kidney transplant. And somehow, on this exact anniversary, I also get to release the book that tells the story behind so many of those numbers. R.O.S.E.
