What's YOUR favorite juice? Today we are celebrating the most refreshing thing you can put in your body. I am a juice girl through and through. There is something about a cold fresh pressed juice that just makes everything feel better. And today we are talking about four of my absolute favorites and why each one deserves a permanent spot in your life. ๐ŸŒฟ ๐ŸŽ ๐Ÿ…ฐ๐Ÿ…ฟ๐Ÿ…ฟ๐Ÿ…ป๐Ÿ…ด ๐Ÿ…น๐Ÿ†„๐Ÿ…ธ๐Ÿ…ฒ๐Ÿ…ด First things first โ€” fresh pressed apple juice and store bought apple juice are two completely different things. Store bought is essentially sugar water with the good stuff stripped out. Fresh pressed? That's where the magic is. ๐ŸŒฟ Fresh apple juice is loaded with quercetin โ€” a powerful antioxidant that has been shown to reduce inflammation, support brain health, and even protect against certain cancers. It also contains vitamin C, potassium, and malic acid which supports liver function and gives you that gorgeous tart flavor. Green apples give you a sharper more tart juice. Red apples give you something sweeter and more mellow. Fresh pressed orange juice tastes like an entirely different drink and once you go fresh you SIMPLY cannot go back. PERIOD. I gotta KNOW โ€”> have you ever heard of OR tried durian? Drop a yes, no, or absolutely not ๐Ÿ˜‚ below because today we are going ALL in on tropical fruit. This week we are talking about three fruits that deserve way more attention than they get. One of them smells like gym socks or propane (depending on your sniffer) and I cannot wait to tell you why you should eat it anyway. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐ŸŒฟ ๐Ÿ‘‘ Durian โ€” The King of Fruits Durian is nicknamed "the king of fruits" across Southeast Asia. And before you scroll past because of the smell โ€” hear me out. ๐Ÿ˜‚ The smell is often described as a mix of rotten onions, turpentine, sewage or gym socks. For me, it reminds me of propane. The smell is so strong and lingering that it's banned in many hotels and public places across Southeast Asia. So yes. It smells absolutely unhinged. ๐Ÿ˜‚ I'm also ONLY allowed to crack this open when my hubby is gone ๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ˜† BUT. Here's what's inside that spiky chaos: Durian is a superb source of B-complex vitamins โ€” a rarity among fruits โ€” including niacin, riboflavin, pantothenic acid, pyridoxine, and thiamin. It also contains significant levels of manganese, copper, iron, and magnesium, plus potassium which is vital for controlling heart rate and blood pressure. The flavor is described as tasting like cheese, almonds, garlic, and caramel all at once. Chaotic? Absolutely. Delicious? Surprisingly yes. It's dreamy creamy ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’š One important heads up though โ€” consuming durian at the same time as alcohol can cause problems. Scientists believe that sulfur-like compounds in durian may prevent certain enzymes from breaking down alcohol, causing increased alcohol levels in your blood leading to nausea, vomiting, and heart palpitations. So just don't do that. ๐Ÿ˜‚ In smoothies durian is absolutely incredible. Thick, creamy, custardy, naturally sweet. Just hear me out ๐Ÿซ  Here's the thing โ€” most of us are walking around chronically dehydrated and we don't even know it. Tired? Probably dehydrated. Headache? Dehydrated. Hungry when you just ate? Might actually be thirsty. Brain fog? You guessed it. ๐Ÿ’ง Your body is roughly 60% water. Your brain is 73% water. Your blood is 90% water. Okay I have to tell you what happened. ๐Ÿ‘‡ I threw frozen mango, avocado, hemp seed milk, a date, and cacao into my blender the other day fully expecting a super yummy chocolate smoothie. What came out was NOT a chocolate smoothie. It was a FROSTY. Like a Wendy's frosty. Thick, creamy, chocolatey, malty โ€” I stood at my counter genuinely confused YET giddy over what I had just created. ๐Ÿ˜‚ And then I suddenly wanted an order of fries to eat this magical frosty with! I passed on the fries ๐Ÿ˜† CORE MEMORY. I used to stop at Wendy's, grab a frosty and a medium fry. Anyyyyywho, turns out avocado is the secret weapon nobody talks about. It doesn't add flavor. It doesn't taste like guacamole in your drink. It just quietly transforms everything around it into something thick and silky and almost malt-like and I am still not fully over it. ๐Ÿฅ‘ P.S. Walmart carries frozen avocado OR you can cut and freeze yourself! No dairy. No ice cream. No mystery ingredients. Just whole plants doing absolutely unhinged things in a blender. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐ŸŒฟ Have you ever accidentally created something magical in your blender?
