The expert problem
[ROAST MY LESSON]: Another day, another rant
If you're a consultant, like most people here are, you problably feel like you need to be seen as a flawless expert by your audience and leads.
And let me tell you, that will slow you down a lot.
If the narrative that you're telling people is that you're an expert who totally has everything figured out on your niche than you're competing with the top players who, unlike you, have the numbers to back up their claims.
But if you're honest with yourself and your followers, and tell them that you're still figuring out stuff, and invite them to figure out with you, your content will be much more honest, interesting and relatable.
What does that look like? Instead of 'Secret formulas" and "Definitive Guides", you make "I tried 20 mailmarketing tools, here are my favorites", "I tried meta ads with a 20 dollar budget and here are the results" and stuff like that. The same goes for people who are not on business niches.
I honestly love joining communities with people who are honest about their journeys.
